"I created She Shines On to inspire girls to believe that they can follow their dreams. As a young girl, I was passionate about dance, theatre and television, but when it came time to choose a career, I heard that tired refrain — you can't make a living in the arts — so I became a lawyer instead. After graduating, I lasted only 7 weeks working in a law firm before realising I wasn't being true to myself.
I vowed to change this. I travelled to all 7 continents and took part in numerous personal development trainings, which lit the spark in me to create the life of my dreams. I began taking TV hosting courses all over the world (Los Angeles, Sydney, London), and at this very moment, I'm in LA pursuing a career in TV.
Through these experiences, I began to see that if you believe in yourself then you really can turn your dreams into reality. That's what I want every girl to believe who comes on tour with us. There's no greater joy than following your dreams and being true to who you really are. Meet SHE SHINES ON. Travel, personal development, and dance all rolled into one."
— Kim Davey, Founder

Growing up in Stratford, Taranaki, Hayley discovered her love of dance at just five years old—and she hasn't stopped moving since. Trained in jazz, hip hop, and musical theatre, she was instantly captivated by the electricity of the stage, the power of storytelling through movement, and the magic that happens when music and choreography collide. Dance has always been more than a hobby for Hayley—it's been her heartbeat. From the age of 16, she has worked as a freelance choreographer and dance teacher. She went on to own Studio 2 Dance School in Stratford and later founded and creatively directed The Dance Project, leading talented dancers on unforgettable international tours with SHE SHINES ON to New York in 2018 and to Sydney and the Gold Coast in 2024. Alongside her dance career, Hayley built extensive experience in local government across events, community development, and legal portfolio management — sharpening her skills in leadership, organisation, advocacy, and project management. Based in New Plymouth, New Zealand with her husband Jordan and their dog Stella, Hayley is driven by one simple belief: every dancer deserves their moment to shine.
